UCCX Holiday & Business Hours Schedule

Pick a country, set your hours of operation per day, and get a complete Day-of-Week / holiday lookup table plus Script Editor step list to drive open / closed / holiday branches.

What this tool does

UCCX doesn't have a first-class holiday object

Unlike Unity, UCCX puts hours-of-operation and holiday logic in the script — using Time of Day and Day of Week steps plus lookups against a holiday table. This tool emits both: a complete holiday table you paste into the Script Editor Set Contact Info step (or an external CSV), plus the exact script branches for business hours, closed, and holiday paths.

How to read your result

Three lookups drive every call

1

Is it a holiday?

Check today's date against holiday table → closed branch.

2

Day of week

Sat/Sun closed → closed branch.

3

Time of day

Compare to start/end → open vs closed.

Deep dive

Time zones and DST gotchas

UCCX uses the server's timezone for all schedule evaluations unless you explicitly set timezone in the Time of Day step. Most deployments are single-site and never hit this, but if you're running UCCX in Dallas and have agents in LA, a 5pm close in Dallas is 3pm in LA. The fix: set script-level timezone via Set Contact Info, timeZone = "America/Chicago" at the top of every script.

Daylight Saving Time transitions break hours-of-operation if you've hard-coded UTC offsets. Use the IANA zone names (America/New_York), not offsets (-0500). UCCX respects DST automatically for IANA zones.

Holiday lookups need annual refresh. Easter, Thanksgiving, and variable-date holidays shift every year — schedule an annual task in December to regenerate next year's holiday list and redeploy the script. Most organizations forget this and run closed on Christmas Eve for 3 years until someone complains.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I store the holiday list outside the script?

Yes — use a CSV file + Read from File step, or XML document + Make Rest Call. Both avoid re-editing the script yearly.

What if a holiday falls on a weekend?

US federal rule: observed on the nearest weekday. Private sector varies. Check your HR policy.

How do I handle multiple locations?

Use separate applications/scripts per location, or pass location as an enterprise variable and look up the schedule.

Does UCCX support floating holidays?

Only if you hard-code them or use external lookup. No built-in Easter or Thanksgiving calculator.
