Pick the role (agent or supervisor), select which gadgets to show, and get the Finesse layout XML ready to paste into the admin GUI — with sensible defaults for tab order, queue statistics, and wrap-up.
Finesse desktop layout is XML. Every line matters — a missing tab or malformed gadget URL breaks the agent desktop for everyone. This tool emits correct, validated XML for agent and supervisor layouts using the gadget list you select, plus an optional 3rd-party CRM gadget URL.
Pick gadgets, click Generate Layout XML.

When you modify a Finesse gadget URL, Finesse caches the old version for up to 10 minutes per client. If you swap a CRM gadget and one agent sees the old layout, restart their browser or clear cache. Best practice: always append a version query param (?v=20260420) to gadget URLs and bump it on every change — that forces cache invalidation without waiting.
Standard gadgets live at https://<uccx>:8445/desktop/gadgets/. Third-party gadgets must be CORS-enabled and served over HTTPS with a trusted cert. Self-signed certs break Finesse gadget loading in modern browsers — either get a real cert or add to the trust store on every agent PC.
Don't over-stack gadgets in one tab. Three gadgets per tab is the usable maximum; beyond that, agents scroll and miss alerts. Use multiple tabs — Finesse supports up to 10 tabs per role.
